Garmin has announced the addition of FliteCharts and SafeTaxi to the GMX 200 MFD. These two features simplify the availability of procedural information during all phases of flight, while enhancing situational awareness while taxing.
Garmin's FliteCharts is an electronic version of the National Aeronautical Chart Office U.S. Terminal Procedures that allow users to quickly find and display instrument approach procedures, Departure Procedures, Standard Terminal Arrival Routes, and airport diagrams. FliteCharts makes it easy to access every U.S. instrument procedure currently published by NACO, which includes approximately 14,000 approach plates at over 2,900 airports.
SafeTaxi displays runways, taxiways, intersections, airport Hot Spots, FBOs, and hangars while simultaneously depicting the aircraft's exact location and movement on the field. SafeTaxi currently includes over 850 U.S. airport diagrams and seamlessly integrates with the GMX 200's existing basemap.
The GMX 200 multi-function display is compatible with Garmin's GNS 400W/500W series, GDL 69/69A, GTX 330/33, GDL 90, GWX 68, and many other approved GPS navigation equipment.
GMX 200s delivered after April 7, 2008 through December 31, 2008 will come preloaded with FliteCharts and SafeTaxi at no additional cost. Existing GMX 200 owners can add FliteCharts and SafeTaxi by purchasing a new SD datacard by contacting their Aviation Distributor.
GMX 200 Single Datacard Price: $695
GMX 200 Dual Datacard Price: $835
